The Oxford Artisan Distillery Rye Whisky Batch 7 - Easy Ryder Single Grain Whisky

Blended from nine casks of varying char levels, all American oak apart from a single moscatel cask, this seventh batch of rye whisky from The Oxford Artisan Distillery has been named Easy Ryder as it's so easy to drink. The rye used in this batch was a combination of heritage grains planted to aid biodiversity in the Oxford countryside, harvested in 2017, and treated to a long fermentation in Hungarian oak vats. Deliciously creamy notes throughout, with sweet moscatel balancing characteristic rye spice.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt (Link new window)

Nose Warm apple cider, dried tropical fruits, drizzles of dark caramel, and fresh cut hay.

Palate Creamy custard, with rich pastries, cocoa nibs, and toasted oak.

Finish Peppery spice and meadow herbs, and subtle, smouldering gorse.
